I'm a fan of mixing handmade/material elements with digital jiggery-pokery and strongly advocate the idea of looking outside the web for inspiration. It creates an interesting mishmash of ideas and sometimes pushes you to the limit in terms of what's possible with CSS etc. : ) I found the presentation very interesting.
